For the last two sessions of art club the children have been creating printing blocks using grey-board as the plate and textured materials to build up their designs. The class cut up bits of cardboard, wool and foam to create their printing blocks.
For the 2nd session of this printmaking project I demonstrated how to ink up their blocks using black ink and a roller. I also had my table top Pookie Press with me for the children to try out.

Some of the children had created their own colourful paper using torn up tissue paper. This added an extra layer of colour and texture to their prints.

This has been a really enjoyable session and the class loved seeing their prints come alive. For many this was their first experience of printmaking.
We finished the session with some mono printing.
