Experience

School Sessions and Community Projects

Making a mark - Printmaking session for KS2 years 4, 5 and 6.

Meavy Primary School, Devon. February 2025
mono-printing, collagraph prints, experimentation

Using the surrounding Dartmoor landscape as inspiration, the session encouraged pupils to explore a variety of printmaking methods to create their very own original prints.
The session focused on mark making through experimentation.
Pupils used recycled materials from drinks cartons, egg boxes, string, netting and cardboard to create multi layer prints. Each class experiemented with texture, form and composition to create their hand printed landscapes.

Block Printing Workshop for Arts Well CIC - ‘Celebrating You’

Awena Celebration Day at The Eden Project

A partnership between Arts Well, FEAST and Headstart Kernow, commissioned by The Cornwall Council Wellbeing and Public Health Service.

An accessible and inclusive block printing workshop for young people who may not have English as a first language whilst being suitable for school age children and young people, plus 16-18 year-olds.

Using my hand carved lino blocks, participants selected from a wide range of designs including botanical, abstract shapes and nature based motifs to hand print their very own block prints onto card or paper.  Participants had a variety of colours to choose from or they could mix their own inks and select designs which they felt drawn to. The process is very accessible and immediate and allowed participants to have a taster of the printmaking process and take home their creations.

What people say about Linnet Workshops

'Thank you SO much for coming in yesterday. The children absolutely loved their workshops and we always find it so valuable working alongside and meeting real artists.

The whole school are all focusing on elements of collage this term and are able to add their experience with you to their Art sketchbooks/portfolios.

Your sessions were really engaging and it was really lovely to have the opportunity to use some of your materials as they are different to ours. Things as simple as the chunky crayons and circular stamp/sponges and printing blocks added an extra dynamic to their exploration.'
Holly Laurence Teacher & Art Lead, High Bickington Academy, North Devon.

'Grace from Linnet Workshops ran a number of 2-hour workshops for Riverford co-owners to get involved in throughout our Learning at Work Week and we loved it!

We benefitted from some time to enjoy this relaxing, mindful, creative activity and came away with some wonderful creations.  Grace has inspired many of our co-owners this week and we recognise the talent we have amongst our co-owner community.

We highly recommend having a go with lino cut and print workshops, individually or getting your team and workforce involved.'
